So many options, so many flavors, so many ways to enjoy ice cream. On our way back to Park City after a full day in SLC, my husband and I stopped here on whim, and we are glad we did. The ice cream was obviously homemade and tasted so good. Creaminess and freshness were on point. My husband ordered a Hurricane, and I got a four-scoop sampler so we could try some of the flavors we tested. There are so many different flavor options, and I can imagine they have seasonal options throughout the year. It was quite busy at the time we visited. So just be patient and prepare to wait. Browse the menu and flavors so that you are ready to order when it is your turn. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful with new customers.
Went on 3/19 evening. It was crowded and disorganized as there is no line, everyone crowded at the counter to order! As it?s my 1st visit I follow the crowd made our orders at counter and proceed to cashier to pay then wait for our ice cream. The guy who took our orders and made it couldn?t even recognize us as he hold our ice cream searching for us. We had to call him ! Thinking back maybe he gave us the wrong orders. But what are the odds that someone ordered key lime to replace chocolate too! There is no space to sit and we had to eat outside in the cold as it?s too crowded inside with no social distancing. Not all staff wear masks. Whilst waiting for our orders a few staff came to ask if we were helped ????. Later on at home I browse the Handel website only to learn that the banana split served to us looks nothing like what is described on your website, there were no nuts and barely any toppings (see photos) with only 6 slices banana! Mashed up red stuff tasted more like mashed cherries nothing like fresh strawberries. Watery whip cream! The ice cream cup I ordered was 5+ but I was given a small cup not the cup that was shown on website. Ice cream was good but felt short changed. For altogether 4 scoops ice cream we should have ordered the sampler and save . Attached Photo on website vs photo of what was served taken almost immediately we got it.
AMAZING tasting ice cream and wonderful service! We ordered takeout and they gave us us a free little chocolate covered strawberry ice cream pop just because. Want to support small business and also get some delicious ice cream? Come here! You won't regret it ????
Delicious ice cream as always, but Tuesdays are by far the busiest day at this location. I watched this line for a few hours and it only got longer as the hours went later into the evening at this Cottonwood Heights location. I asked the employee who served me in Handel's about the crowd and she confirmed it's crazy like that for them at that store every single Tuesday. I stopped in for a handmade ice cream sandwich because it was National Icecream Sandwich Day and I wanted to see how they make an ice cream sandwich at Handel's. Obviously you can pick any flavor of ice cream they have available in the store. They put it between two Oreo cookies. The cookies are hard, so the ice cream tends to squish out the sides as you bite into the hard cookies on the outside of the sandwich. The cookies would be nicer if they were just a bit softer to more easily bite through, but they aren't like that. They are just regular, large Oreo cookies. The Handel's ice cream sandwich is pretty messy to eat because you're breaking the hard cookies with your teeth while the ice cream is squeezing out the sides of the sandwich. I chose the Vanilla Caramel Brownie flavor to complement the flavor of the Oreo sandwich cookies. The Handel's ice cream I'd rate a 10 out of 10 because Handel's consistently makes a great product! The ice cream sandwich I give a 6 out of 10 ... good attempt, but could be done better with different cookies or softer cookies for the sandwich part.
