Katana Sushi - Midlothian

I’m not quite sure how to describe this place—maybe a hidden gem or a diamond in the rough? Regardless of the label, the sushi here is fantastic. I usually come for lunch and always order the sashimi combo. The fish is well-seasoned, and the side salad with ginger dressing is notably better than what you find in other sushi restaurants. Katana really shines in the quality and portions of her sashimi and nigiri. This review definitely makes me want to go back!

I had an excellent experience! The staff was incredibly polite. The sushi was delicious with just the right amount of rice. They blend black and white rice in their sushi, which should aid digestion. How do you like it? I also enjoyed the Studio Ghibli music playing in the background! The desserts were not overly sweet; they were quite refreshing! The place is beautifully designed, and I will definitely return!

The sushi here is quite substantial, and they offer daily specials on nigiri, including chu and o-toro. The use of purple rice gives the rolls a distinctive appearance, and it's a healthier option that doesn’t compromise the flavor. Highly recommended!

Not only is this my favorite place for sushi in Virginia; the quality, taste and freshness of Sushi here rivals the best I had in Southern California and Hawaii. This place is a jewel of a joint! The staff was welcoming and attentive, the ambience is cozy and authentic, and I found their prices to be incredibly reasonable for such high quality. Don't miss her Sunomono. It's really about the crowd. I'm so glad to finally find my sushi spot!

Best sushi in Richmond and the staff just makes it that much better. Seriously love them so much! If you live in Richmond you need to come here. Every piece of fish is fresh and you can tell that they care about quality!
