Peppers - Midland

I began with the "house made" chips and guacamole. I'm not sure what they mean by "house made," because the chips tasted like some of the cheapest, most over-processed tortilla chips I've ever had. Next, I ordered the fajita steak burrito, and while I expected to find a few tough or chewy pieces, I was unprepared for the dog food-quality "steak." I want to note that this review considers the fact that this restaurant is in an airport, so my expectations for price and quality are in line with other airport establishments I've visited.

The food was reasonable given the limited options at the airport, but the service was absolutely terrible and disrespectful. I regret not checking the reviews beforehand. It's clear that they don't prioritize customer service. I respected the instructions by standing in the designated area to place my order, but despite the two signs indicating where to stand, three different staff members saw me and simply walked away without acknowledging me. I felt invisible, like they were unwilling to take my order. To make matters worse, I was the only person in line right at the counter, so it wasn't busy at all. After waiting for about ten minutes, one employee finally asked if I was okay. I explained that I was waiting to order but felt ignored. Another staff member then took my order but didn’t apologize for the wait or acknowledge my previous treatment. Their attitude suggested they wanted me gone after I spoke up. Based on other reviews, this seems to be a recurring issue likely stemming from poor management. The only positive was that the woman preparing the food was quick and pleasant. I advise against going here; consider yourself warned. They seem to lack motivation to improve their service as one of the few dining options in this small airport, which means they will always have customers who may hesitate to complain for fear of missing their flights.

The service was very slow today. It was clear that Ivette wasn’t around. There weren’t many people at the airport this afternoon, yet there was a line of four people waiting to order drinks, while half of the tables were empty!

Visiting Peppers is part of our Friday ritual on the way back from Midland airport. My colleagues and I always enjoy visiting Peppers as the staff there take good care of us. Chicken Quesadilla is always spot on! Yvette is the bartender, and she is awesome, very attentive, and friendly. Drinks are always on point, and she is attentive to each individual customer even when the restaurant gets busy. Great food, awesome people, please say hi to Yvette and stop by Peppers if you are visiting Midland Airport.

My team and I are frequent flyers to many airports and Peppers is by far our favorite restaurant to visit due to the high quality of service by Yvette. No matter how busy the bar is, Yvette always provides personal service, has a friendly attitude and makes us feel welcome. She is the best bartender! And the quesadilla is the best in the West...
