Basin Burger House - Midland

Had the burger that Texas Monthly said was one of the 50 best burgers in Texas green chili burger (and it comes with a fried egg). Outstanding. With sweet potato fries. An excellent lunch. They have a lot of different burgers so I guess I'll have to keep coming by and trying each out. Returned and had the Diablo burger. Hot and good and big. Made two meals off it.

First off let me say The waitress we had was nice and sweet and was the best thing about this place. I don't remember her name but she was working the bar. She's pretty and had tattoos on her arms. Ok I ordered the Green chili Burger it came with a fried egg, avocado spread, some unidentifiable green chili and roasted jalapeño aioli. I ordered it medium well with NO ONIONS and with side of fries. Not that hard right. WRONG!!!!! Strike one was the meat patty was burnt. Outside crust was hard as hell. The meat must have done something horrible in its past life because it was Damned! Strike Two I asked for NO ONIONS! I HATE RAW ONIONS! And wouldn't you know it, they put raw onions. A lot. Strike Three Is because I asked for my side to be fries. And guess what. They brought me ONION RINGS! Do I look like Shrek to get all those damn onions. The toppings on the burger were nothing to talk about. At least the egg was cooked properly and that's it. The rest had zero flavor. I mean none. I don't know how they could mess this up because more than half of the restaurant was empty at 1:30pm on a Friday. Safe to say I will not be returning. The menu said The green chili burger was a Texas monthly top 50. That is the biggest LIE since the Democratic Party! My favorite go to meals are cheeseburgers. Believe me I've eating my share of burgers to know what a good burger is. This wasn't it. This was the first burger in my adult life I didn't finish. I've had some crappy burgers before but this one deserves a parade. The waitress said I shouldn't have eatin more than a bit so she could have fixed it. I don't send food back to be replaced. First impressions don't get a redo. I told her just leave it on my check. That's why I'm written this. This is my experience here. Who's knows if you're reading this then maybe they'll make your food better. For the price it was a rip off.

I 'd wanted to try the Green Chili burger since reading about it being one of Texas ' Top 50 Burgers. I went one night and once inside found that they were closed for a private party. I went back today and the Green Chili burger was well worth the wait! Great burger! It 's very messy, always a good sign when it comes to burgers. The service was pretty quick and everyone was friendly. The only negative I found, and it was quite small, was that the sweet potato fries were a bit overdone for my liking. The have a nice bar, which I plan to try soon. The decor really appealed to me as did the 80 's music that was playing. I plan to be a regular now, should be easy since it 's only a few blocks from my apartment.

Just about one of the best places to get a big juicy burger in West Texas, Basin Burger House satisfies. I ordered the Basin Classic runs about $11, however it is worth the price paired well with their famous Parmesan fries and I'm in love. They ask how you want your burger meat which is a plus, freshly grilled, and ask you if you want their home style sweet potato fries or Parmesan fries, use Yelp app and get a basket of their fresh home made hand cut onion rings! Overall the waiter was exceptional, assured our sweet teas were never empty and the food was excellent, I will definitely be a returning customer and the photos of Midland's history is a plus, a Midland favorite!

Basin burger house has some good burgers and drinks. The buns were good, and the sides were decent. Further, the scenery around the restaurant lends itself to be more unique than other chains around town. From seeing clips about midland in the 1950s to photos of past presidents, it was pretty neat to see! At a minimum, I would say people need to at least try the restaurant one time. The reason why I gave it three stars was the price. I thought the service was ok, but for two burgers, sides, and fountain drinks, it was 38 dollars total.
