Contribuiți la feedbackDuring my search for the best fried seafood restaurants in Rhode Island, I came across Flo's and I am so glad we decided to stop by. The parking lot is quite small, so we had to drive around a bit on Saturday before finding a spot. There are paid parking options in a nearby beach lot, but if someone in your group has trouble walking, it is best to use the restaurant's lot. We waited for about half an hour before placing our order, but the staff worked efficiently despite the crowd. The menu mainly consists of fried seafood at very reasonable prices. I was pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes, as I expected smaller servings for the price. We tried the crispy fish and chips as well as the fried shrimp, both of which were delicious. The fish was wonderfully crispy on the outside and fresh on the inside, while the shrimp were juicy and flavorful. The fries were also crispy and tasty. The restaurant has a charming small outdoor seating area and two floors inside. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our experience and highly recommend Flo's to anyone looking for a simple yet tasty seafood meal.
I ordered the Lobster roll and half a dozen clam cakes. The Lobster roll was amazing. The generous serving of lobster on a buttered roll simply melted in my mouth with the first bite. It was incredibly fresh and delicious. I highly recommend trying it if you're in the area and have never had one before. As for the clam cakes, they were my first time trying them and they reminded me of a hush puppy (don't judge me, lol). They were crunchy on the outside, made from a clam batter that was deep fried. They were served with tartar sauce, although personally, I'm not a fan of tartar sauce.
The ambience, the view and the location are great. The staff is also very friendly and understandable. However, food needs improvement. A fish sandwich combo with beer ordered. The fish dripping with oil and I had to blow the oil away to make it pale. The plastic bowl I was served smells like a wet dog. Coleslaw, Pommes, tartaric acid and? Gansett was good!
The place was beautiful and it came with a parking lot that can fit about 10 cars. Ordering the waiting line was huge as it is a popular restaurant for the locals and it is a self-service restaurant. We waited about 20 minutes to order our food and another 15 to pick up the order. The location was great and the beer was good. The only part missing was that we didn't enjoy the food. We have the two recommendations (fried clam cake and fried clam) and both were quite disappointing.
Easy to find and parking right around the back of the restaurant. Went there on a Monday not too long of a wait. Food was served fast but since it?s all fried, lost much of the original taste. Good for bunch of guys hanging out with beers, but for families it?s need more variety besides fried food.
