Roots Shoots Garden Centre

This cafe is inside a garden centre and is basically a converted house with a large patio area that's surrounded by plants and arbors to sit in. We had free drinks vouchers from spending in the garden centre. Drinks were fine though service was a...bit slow.

We visited as a group of six and luckily were able to pull two tables together inside. If the weather had been worse I think we would have struggled to get a table for all six as it’s quite a small cafe. The food was...good, the chips in particular were tasty, but they forgot one of our meals so there was a longer wait as we waited for theirs to be cooked. They did have a good cake selection with several gluten-free options and they even wrapped up the other half of my sandwich so I could take it home, as it was so big I couldn’t eat it all with the chips. Would go back again and try more of the cakes.

Lovely garden to sit in in the sun and or shade. Very reasonable price for tea and a latte. Quiet for a visit early Saturday.

We called in for food a look around the garden centre, the cafe look very clean and tidy, the food unfortunately was a massive let down, ham, eggs chips was actually eggs with a few chips with slice of thinly sliced ham....The cod and chips were an even bigger let down as it looked like a very small thin frozen cod that you would buy in Iceland with just a few chips and peas. Waste of money. The garden centre had some nice items but we felt ripped off by the cafe so left.

Very good value garden centre with a large selection of plants on offer. Fantastic cafe with great selection of tempting cakes and delicious lunches. Well worth a visit.
