Tacos El Carnal 2 - Miami

Found this place almost by accident. Superb tacos, tried the Pastor and also the Tripe (which I was told was the house specialty), they were very delicious and tasty. Service was also excellent.

My father I were on our way to an Italian restaurant for dinner when we noticed the glowing Tacos el Carnal sign on Flagler. We both looked at each-other almost telepathically made the decision to U-turn head back. What an absolutely delightful surprise this spot is! Large bright filled with good vibes authentic Mexican music. Everyone who works there welcomes you with a smile once seated, you can begin to peruse the menu. Everything we tried was fantastic! We loved it so much, we came back the following night for dinner again. Highlights for me were the Chicken Nachos (do yourself a favor get guacamole, crema pico de gallo on the side to to it off), Chicken Tostada , Shrimp Tacos the Margaritas. My dad loved the Tamal de Pollo con salsa verde the rice beans. We are obsessed with this spot have already decided to host my dad 's bday here. Here 's something else... Mon-Thur, they stay open till 3 AM! Fri-Sun, 4:30AM!!! Absolutely love this lil gem!

We were so excited to find an authentic Mexican restaurant in the area that we decided to go today even though it was pouring and thundering. Although the service we received from the waitress was ok, the prices and the food did not meet what we were expecting. The place seemed good but the food was not as good. We were charged even for the chips they served us prior to eating. The cachete tacos were not what we expected and seemed overcooked and extremely dry. The only two things we can recommend is the beef soup and the nicely chilled Corona beers. That was it. Beware the starting tipping rate is 18% and above. Would we go back? not in our wildest dreams. Do we recommend nope, not at all.

I always go to this place and is so convenient because they close so late, so after work is always in my options!! All the tacos are great! The birria tostadas? Out of this world!!
