Contribuiți la feedbackWhat an underrated place in Miami shores! The food is sooooo good! My office is in the shores as well and I hadn’t been to Borsalino since it’s changed from the previous restaurant that was there. A friend and I decided to in to check it out, saw the menu and decided to stay for a bite. We both had a bowl from their menu and it was soooo delicious! It has a chill vibe. It’s a coffee shop with good food and a full bar if you want to have a drink as well. So happy it’s so close to my office for me to grab a bite during my work hours! Highly recommend.
The location,, ambience and lay out of the place is nice. While the dishes sounded good our food came out lukewarm bordering cold,, the knives provided to cut the toast upon which the meal was layered was inappropriate thus making the cutting of ot difficult.. we ordered mocha lattes they were cold. Wait staff needs more training on how to take care of a table, they let the dishes piled up and did not remove them before bringing out more stuff, thus cluttering the tables unnecessarily.
I went to Borsalino 's Coffee Bar with a couple of girl pals, one of whom insisted we go( . So, I get there and the atmosphere is mehhhh. Nothing to write home about. A nice waitress brings us the menus. Her English was not very good looking, but she was nice. The prices however, are good, really good! So then I look at the menu and, ummmmm...; this is looking better by the minute. I 'm excited. I order a Thomas Juice (watermelon, squeezed lime, and fresh mint , and a Truffle Burrata (fettuccine, creamy burrata, truffle oil, and red pepper flakes . By now, my mouth is watering like a fire hydrant on a hot summer day in New York City. When my drink gets here, I jump that thing like a parched man to an oasis after trekking through the sands of the Sahara Desert. But, wait... what just happened? Where 's the sweetness of the watermelon, the tartness of the lime, the fresh menthol taste and aroma of the mint? What did you do to my juice️I know; you 're thinking, Just add sugar and stop whining, b... . FYI. I diiiiid—again, and again, and again. But now, I had a tasteless drink of pink water in front of me. This once beautiful pink concoction was a flavorless, boring, and vapid waste of time and money. Oh well! Such is life. Moving on. Here comes my meal! It looks good. I 'm salivating and I 'm ready to dig in, when, wait... do I see Water? Nahhhh... It 's just my imagination. Right??? I pop open the burrata. The Italian cheese ball oozes out its creamy insides. I lift a forkful of fettuccine and burrata towards my salivating mouth; my close eyes in anticipation. I bite, and I get a sad bite of underwhelmed, unseasoned, unappetizing, watered-down, uninspired palatal disappointment. My pasta was overly al dente yet watery, my burrata watery, and my food dry. What LESS can I ask for? Borsalino, you need to do better than this! Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $20–30
Not impressed. Not impressed at all. Last week, I went to the Borsalino Coffee Bar with a few girlfriends. Some of the group had been there before and loved it. ️ I was excited and couldn 't wait for my order to arrive. The waitress was nice not much English, but nice ; the decor was decent, and the prices were phenomenally good.It took a while, but that 's what happens when you order freshly-made food. I ordered a Thomas Juice—watermelon, squeezed lime, and fresh mint. I saw the beautiful pink of the watermelon hit the table and became excited. That is... until I tasted it. 'It ' being the no sweetness natural or otherwise , no mint taste mint, and no lime taste drink. Yes, I did add brown sugar but it made no difference. The juice was a wash! Okay. On to my meal: Truffle Burrata—Fettuccine with creamy burrata, truffle oil, and red pepper flakes. Yum, you say? Exotic sounding, you say? It looked darn good too. And when the waitress placed this beautiful tableau in front of me, my mouth watered like a fire hydrant on a hot summer day in New York City. Must have been from all that watery, tasteless watermelon drink in front of me ; because, this pretty meal was also 'a wash '. As some of you may know, burrata is an Italian cheese ball made from mozzarella and cream. When the ball breaks, the soft and creamy inside spills out with cream. Wait... do I see Water?. Well, ends up that my pasta was undercooked, the burrata overly wet, and my food underseasoned. You see, as there was no sauce, a disappearing truffle oil, and lots of appearing Water, my meal ended up being a boring, lackluster, uninspiring, blah plate of disappointment. So, there you have it! The Borsalino Water Café.
Stopped in for lunch. Not a large menu; a small selection of sandwiches and salads. Ordered the short rib sandwich. A little greasy but good. Two aspects put me off however. First, the $4 can of soda (Coke). Second, a 20% tip they slipped onto the bill AFTER they presented the check. I 'd imagine that many folks wouldn 't take note and would end up tipping twice. Also 20% on total amount (including tax; no one should have to tip the tax). Not sure why the management or staff feel the need to impose a non-discretionary tip at this location, but the way they obscured it left a very bad impression. There are better and more transparent places to dine. I don 't think I 'll return.
