Merrimack Valley Golf Club - Methuen

Had my first experience at Sandtrap the other night! I 'm part of a Facebook group called Merrimack Valley Eats and went there to post for some suggestions for a good Tuesday trivia night in the area the suggestions were overwhelmingly leaning towards Merrimack Valley Golf Club! The trivia host himself, Mike, was one of the people to suggest we go there. Once we got there, I was able to identify Mike and said hi as he handed us our trivia papers. He was great on the mic, dry sense of humor and moved a good pace with the trivia! We ended up coming in 1st place out of 4 or 5 teams! It 's a relatively small inside space with the most beautiful patio looking out onto the course which has some of the best sunsets in the MV area! Our server was Ian who was very cool, laid back, and fit the vibe of the place. I work in the service industry myself and respect the hell out of a good server, he knew his stuff, our food came out right even with a few modifications on my friends entree. I highly suggest the steak tips and start with the sweet potato fries with Jalapeño aioli as an app for the table! THEYRE SO GOOD. The golf course itself is beautiful and upstairs from sandtrap is another restaurant/bar called Parlay beautifully decorated, so much sunlight coming through, definitely a place I 'd love to check out in the future! Good was delicious. However, not too much to say about the staff. One waiter one bartender. Where did quite a while for a food, and waited almost longer for a check in a box to go. But again the food is awesome!

Went to the Sand Trap today for lunch and sat outside on the patio. Beautiful vista overlooking the golf course. I had the baked haddock. Was so fresh and delicious!

Beautiful course, can be a bit wet but definitely a must see! Pretty wide open and a great course for many. Took away one star because i just about passed out last summer waiting for the cart girl to come by for a drinky poo. I swear she was going to every hole but the one i was on. Edited: TOOK ONE STAR OFF BECAUSE SINCE NEW MANAGEMENT DEAL ITS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A TEETIME UNLESS YOU WAIT THE DAY BEFORE. AWFUL! LITERALLY CHECK ON GOLF NOW ALL THE TIME AND NEVER HAS EARLY 18 AVAILABLE OR AFTERNOONS. Edited (again) Took off additional stars because I have called multiple times to ask about a membership (five times) and have been unsuccessful. They took my name multiple times and said they will get back to me and they never do. Also went there to golf recently, and it was a total nightmare. No pace of play, 15 20 minutes in between holes, no rangers to be found it seems they only like policing golf in front of the pro shop. At that spot, they will be more than willing to tell you where the dog died. I am very happy I went back and visited recently before jumping the gun on a membership. It’s really too bad because it’s a beautiful course. It is just managed poorly and they pack the tee sheet.

Our wedding celebration was AMAZING! The best staff ever, Tara was spot on, Kirby was super quick responding too anything! Beautiful location, staff was so attentive, we would always recomend this location!
