Daiwa Sushi Japanese Cuisine - Metairie

I made a last-minute reservation through Resy for dinner, and we were seated right away. The menu is extensive, offering a great selection of dishes for everyone to try. A friend had a couple of cocktails and really enjoyed them while we waited. My go-to at sushi restaurants is usually chirashi because it provides a variety of fish! The sushi rice was perfectly seasoned. If sushi places offer amaebi (sweet shrimp), they also serve the deep-fried head, which has a chip-like texture. Here, they fry the body as well! If you’re in Metairie, make sure to check this place out!

I really enjoyed the sushi at this restaurant. I brought a group with me, and everyone was pleased with their meals. However, as an update, I think the hostess could benefit from some training on how to greet customers properly.

Great sushi here, their menu is well designed having detailed info as well as pictures of almost everything on the menu so you?ll know what you?re eating. The service was excellent and each server has great knowledge of the menu. I?ll be coming back often!

This is our favorite sushi place. The staff is so nice and helpful. Get the smoked old fashion, you won't be disappointed. We sampled so many dishes and were mad because it was over. We love coming here and will be back!

I've traveled all across the US and can confidently say this is one of the best sushi places I've ever visited. Recently, I’ve noticed that many restaurants seem to lack attentive servers, but this place was a refreshing exception. It was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had since before the pandemic. The menu options were incredible—like a book, it was almost overwhelming! Our server recognized this and provided some great suggestions. I really appreciated that the prices weren’t the highest, yet the dishes perfectly matched what the three of us said we liked. I would give it a 10 out of 10 and will definitely return. It's not expensive considering how delicious the food was, and I absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for great sushi.
