Carreta's Grill - Metairie

Let me preface it that's its 3.5 and not 4 stars due to service. At end on lunch time a few days before Christmas...sat in bar area. Server was sweet and kind...loved her but she was never around. If I have to leave the table not once but twice to find someone...ugh. But the food was delicious. I had the Carreta's special and Chile Ranchero with chicken. Chicken was thin and tasty, not too salty and perfect seasoning. The pepper wasn't too over cooked the cheese could have been melted more. Delicious dish. Mine was yummy!! Will come back for sure when I in neighborhood. FYI have to order chips and salsa and the chips here hot amd salsa tasty.

We love this Carreta's and eat here at least once every 2 months. Food is delicious. Service is friendly and attentive. Tonight I was HIGHLY disappointed that they had a CC Service Charge on our bill and we DIDN'T use a Credit Card. I understand the fee IF you use your card BUT DONT JUST ADD IT TO EVERY BILL!!!

A highlight of my visit was the exceptional service; the staff was remarkably attentive, seamlessly anticipating our needs and contributing to a memorable experience. The menu impressed as well, especially with the chicken fajitas. These fajitas, not only reasonably priced, also boasted a delicious taste that was truly enjoyable. A minor note, the chicken fajitas could benefit from a bit more seasoning to enhance their flavor, and the portion of chicken also lacked. However, the Queso was an absolute triumph, adding a rich and satisfying element to the meal. In summary, Carreta's Grill provides an excellent dining experience, leaving me eagerly anticipating my next visit.

I walked in and was seated immediately, with service starting as soon as I sat down. The waitress was really friendly! I ordered the chorizo cheese dip, and it was absolutely delicious! It came with salsa and tortillas. Next, I had the four tacos, which were also fantastic! I treated myself to a Mango margarita—actually, I had two! You have to try them! For dessert, I enjoyed the best churros I've ever had. Wow! I'm just visiting, but if I'm back in town, I would definitely make a point to eat here again!

Easily the best Mexican food in Slidell... Best service and ambiance too 10/10 Don't go to places like El Paso
