My 18-year-old daughter, who is Vietnamese, had the vendi curry with roti. The food was satisfactory, although it may not be exactly what my mother from Mysore would cook or what my father from Mumbai would say his mother could cook better. Overall, it was good. My wife, who is from India, also enjoyed the meal. The only issues we had were that the food was saltier than we are used to and there was a bit too much ghee on the rotis for our liking. Despite these small complaints, the food was alright. One thing I noticed is that the eating style may not appeal to younger generations, even within the Indian community. Eating for one person like me is normal, but it may be different for Americans. I would consider bringing my mother here when she visits. Overall, a decent experience at Lotus Deli.
Service: terriblelady, who takes the order, is extremely rude, she speaks gujrati and thinks that people do not understand them and like and complain about the patrons. they and the cook talked both about us and we could hear them loud and clear. not only that, she has almost every single order she took, messed up, no one while we were waiting for our food, she got a single order right. this is after being checked with them during and after their order. Eating is okay. we asked for less spicy and they made super spicy we couldn't eat it at all. the chef came a few times to check us out, and we told him that eating is spicy, even after we asked for mild, and he kept saying how indo that is. Chinese fusion taste. I said that I tried to eat indo Chinese in the usa and unfortunately it doesn't taste like that at all. most likely we won't go back there again, wanted to try as they're new in business and was super disappointed.
Always a great experience here. eating is exceptionally good and the staff is always super helpful to explain the menu and the elements. I usually get the cherry bowl with the bhatura (actually similar to fry-bread) and my friend gets the butter distributor combo with roti, curry, rice and other goodies. in the rule a few samosas as well as, the amazing with the sauces that come with them. we always leave full and happy!
Food waaaayyy too spicy, couldn't enjoy it. Not that fresh either. Customer service was just ok. No hurry to return. The grocery store section is beautiful!
I was disappointed with my recent visit to this restaurant. I hadn't been there in a while due to the pandemic, but when I finally decided to go back, I noticed that there seemed to be new ownership and many items were missing from the menu. I ordered the Thali and Samosa, but was disappointed with both. The mint sauce tasted strange, like grass, and the samosa filling was dry. The Eggplant curry tasted burnt and overly smoky, with no flavors standing out. Overall, I was very disappointed as Indian food is usually one of my favorite cuisines.
