Chocolate House - Mersch

TERRIBLE CLIENT SERVICE. I really wanted to go there because I saw many recommendations about it. But I will never go. The service was HORRIBLE it felts like they do not want costumers. And the Chocolate was not worthy.

The service was not welcoming (a bit snappy answers from a young waitress). The kitchen was closed to prepare the chicken nuggets but open for prepping fried eggs — strange a bit. The kitchen opens at 11 am, we were there 10:42. No salt or pepper was served as I had two eggs which cried for the pepper salt. I was not given the choice how I would like my eggs. The bread served aside with the eggs was stale and dry (seemed like 2 days old). My son ordered an apple cake. It tasted like storage bought though advertised like home made. The plate had been in the freezer as was damn cold, the same about the cake. Probably yesterday’s cake kept in the fridge overnight. On the pics the place looks inviting and cozy. Inside/reality the deco is cheap kitch. I felt like 20 y back in time. Overall — disappointed. As there is a bike route nearby and it seems to be the only place open on Sunday morning (was plenty of customers though not crowded), a bit more effort could me made. The prices are high for such a provincial place and they seem to have customers, therefore they must have turnover to spend for some improvements.

Bad service, low quality of food and high prices. It is a pity it changed so much compared to some years ago.

Nice place, the service is very friendly and it makes you feel like home The cakes are very good, the drinks too For the kitchen, you better go a bit earlier than around the closing time if you wanna something warm to eat

Good chocolate but no Covid control and owner without mask in the shop. Not really a great example given the times.
