Brambles Bakery & Cafe - Merritt

This place is adorable. We spent a quick night in Merritt and were thrilled that such a quality coffee shop exists in such a small town. And they are open early!We had sticky buns and coffee and my daughter had a Chai Latte. All were Delish! I highly recommend!

Coffee, food, and art lovers rejoice; there is a bakery in Merritt for you! Located on Quilchena avenue It's only a short walk away from the true downtown core, but most locals appreciate it as being downtown. As you come up to the bakery, small two-person patio sets can be seen fronting the windows. With flowers, coffee and conversation, it truly is a picture perfect scene.The food is made in house daily and has been known to make grown adults cry! They even make a variety of breads daily that you can purchase for later consumption. I particularly enjoy breakfast but have been known to take part in their house salad with goat cheese and glory dressing. If I'm ever to walk the green mile, this could well be my last meal.The bold flavors of coffee and espresso lightly dance through the air inviting you to sit down and enjoy a cup. The soft music makes you want to kick your feet up and the warm smiles from the staff truly make you feel at home---Hey, get your feet off there!There are numerous artworks lining the walls that add to the atmosphere of the cafe. Often times you can find an art show at Bramble's Hidden Door art gallery which is located to the left of the pastry case. Entertaining photos, paintings and mixed media line the walls giving a vibrant and lovely ambiance.

Brambles was a fantastic coffee shop that has regrettably closed permanently. However, there is still Kekuli Cafe across the street and other great places to visit in Merritt.

Friendly atmosphere, local art spot, buy cards and prints, local honey, good soup, daily artisian breads, I bought Alsatian Rye...magnificient the kind of salad you make at home with homemade dressings. Made from scratch. Ethical choices important to this bakery/ cafe. Closed earlier in...winter and closed on Monday for winter too...So check before you go. Sat closed at But this is not generally a dinner place, more breakfast and lunch. Its hard to get a bad meal here..Theres a photography exhibit in the side room too..So interesting to hang out.
