Soberana SteakHouse - Mérida

After two weeks Yucatán food, we tried a steak and a burger. The strip steak was a long thin piece of meat that was tasty but not tender. The burger was large and very lean. We thought the price was a little high.

That was a strange experience. we were well welcomed and served, but the Steak selections were limited and frankly, which we were offered, despite two different skill levels were hard with long and gristle and hard to chew and cut. when they go to a...Steak house, this aspekt should be perfect. that wasn't it. another strong note on problems is that we were the only customers.

The title speaks for itself. From the terrace on the square we had a lovely view of the people walking by. The food itself was okay, but not spectacular. A little pricey for what we got.

Beside eating a steak you can also have a breakfast here. It was our first morning in Merida and we found this spot. We both had the ‘Parfait Soberana’ (yoghurt with fruit and granola and it was delicious! We also ordered a cappuccino and an...orange juice. The cappuccino was good however the orange juice wasn’t fresh. The staff speaks enough English to make the order (don’t make it complicated but they are very friendly though.

Fuimos a cenar a Soberana en nuestra última noche en Mérida, los platillos fueron buenos pero no algo realmente espectacular. Son porciones bien servidas y el sazón es muy bueno. Creo que nuestro error fue entrar al salón (para evitar los mosquitos) en lugar de quedarnos en el área sobre la Plaza de Santa Lucía. El ambiente pudo haber mejorado la experiencia.
