Vietnamese Noodles Of Mequon

Pho prices have been rising significantly lately, but Vietnamese Noodles has managed to keep theirs reasonable, which is greatly appreciated! Their regular size bowl of soup is still generous and filling, especially with a side of noodles for my husband. I asked for extra bean sprouts instead of noodles, and it worked out really well (got to stick to my keto diet!). This time, the broth had a unique flavor; it tasted more like beef bone broth than just beef broth. I actually enjoy a good bone broth soup, so I didn't mind, although it was definitely unexpected. It’s perfect for warming up on a chilly day. However, one downside is that they don’t offer tripe on their menu. I ordered brisket and tendon, but there was also some steak in there—I'm not sure how that happened. By the way, don’t miss their mural; I was there a few years ago when the artist was painting it, and it was quite a detailed process that beautifully reflected Vietnam.

The service was good, but unfortunately, the pho was the worst I've had in all of Milwaukee. It lacked any herbal flavor and was very bland. If you're out of pho broth, please don’t try to substitute it with chicken powder, MSG, and water—just be upfront about it. I’ve been here once before, and I remember now why I hadn’t returned in five years. After our meal, both my wife and I ended up feeling sick. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
