The Art Festival was awesome, many talented vendors and the two music areas was highly entertaining. Our friends took us to Elevation Bistro for dinner. It is a small restaurant and reservations are a must, however, the bar area is a first come, first serve. We did not make it to the bar but there was an open table on the patio. It was chilly but we took it and oh goodness so glad we did. Kevin the owner/chef sat us and the rest of the staff was so efficient and helped each other. The cocktails were amazing and we all ended up having the brisket and mushroom soup and a salad, along with fried green tomatoes and ciabiatta bread. OH MY GOODNESS!!! It was so devine, I did not want it to end. If you are in Mentone for the fall leaves, definitely a place to eat.
This was a last minute thing for us. We got a reservation and arrived 40 minutes later. I'm so glad we got in (a Thursday night) because it was a delicious meal. We started with the marinated mozzarella , moved on to the crab cakes entree and the fall vegetables entree. I really enjoy an occasional break from meat so I was happy to see the option of roasted sweet potatoes, okra and crispy kale. We ended with the apple bread pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This was perfectly sweet without being so rich we couldn't finish it. This is our first time in Mentone and I have a suspicion that the place is going to explode in popularity. There are all the makings for a wonderful destination place. I forgot pictures of the entrees.
Are here while in town for weekend getaway. Had a reservation and was seated right away. Small beautiful little place with candlelight and fresh flowers on tables. The appetizers I had were good. The butter served with the bread was fresh unsalted butter and I added salt and pepper to it as a personal preference. Marinated mozzarella was served beautifully and was more than we could eat. Chicken was tasty. Wasn't a huge fan of the roasted vegetables served with it as they lacked a bit of flavor. Husband said burger was very good. We ordered the apple bread pudding to go and it was good also. Prices aren't bad for upscale restaurant. Service was great. Menu selection was a bit limited and my husband had wanted a steak but it wasn't in the menu so he settled for a burger. Overall, it was a nice dinner and we enjoyed it.
An unexpected gem found during a weekend stay at Cloudland. The Okra stew was itself worth a trip. I’d hoped for fresh fish which wasn’t available that evening but everything my friend and I had was delicious. Outstanding service. Lovely dining room. We ate in the small front room. I’d eat there every week if I lived closer.
Can't say enough great things about this restaurant. Everything was perfect! We don't usually order dessert but the entrees were so good we were curious and it was worth it!
