Contribuiți la feedbackLocated inside a hotel on a hillside near the ocean in Mendocino, this restaurant offers a beautiful setting. The hotel is stunning during the day and transforms into a festive space at night, complete with Christmas decorations and large fireplaces in the lobby. The lobby also features an impressive collection of books. The restaurant, located beyond the lobby, spills out onto the dining room with tables. While I had high expectations due to the hype surrounding it, the service was just okay with dishes arriving at different times and one dish being forgotten. However, they did compensate with extra chips for my son. The food was average and lacked a wow factor, especially considering the high prices. The restaurant is completely vegan, but I am unsure if I would return.
I highly recommend dining at Ravens' restaurant. Whether you are a local or staying at the Stanford Inn, this restaurant offers delicious vegan cuisine with stunning views, polite staff, and unique dishes that are fresh and creative. My mom and I had breakfast and dinner here every day during our stay and enjoyed every meal. The menu does not rely on mock meats, oil, or over-salted food, but instead focuses on fresh ingredients that allow the flavors of herbs to shine. I couldn't have asked for better food to complement our stay. Check out my photos to see for yourself!
I enjoyed every meal of our dinners at Ravens. The food is creative, delicious, and attractively presented. Most nights my daughter and I each got a small plate, followed by a large plate. One night we even indulged in dessert. The food is rich invegetables and many other healthy ingredients, and is low oil and not fried. Our favorite small plate was the kale stack, andfavorite large plate was the sea palm. As we roamed nearby parks, we were quite attuned to all the sea palms growing on rocksnear shore. Ravens sources their sea palm locally, so we might have been looking at someone's future dinner. The portions aregenerous, and every night we took enough food back to our room for lunch the next day for both of us.
The restaurant is a part of the beautiful Stanford Inn. Unfortunately, the food is less then mediocre and the service is downright poor. We moved to Mendocino a month ago and being vegetarians, we were really excited to have a vegitarean restaurantnearby. Having eaten there twice over the last month, followed by a take out, we came to the conclusion that Raven has a longway to go to deliver delicious, well prepared and well served food. However the only exception in this poorly managedrestaurant is Tyler who works as a bartender. His cocktails are amazing and he has a great friendly attitude w guests.
It has been a while since I last dined at this restaurant due to the distance from where I live, but I felt compelled to write a review after reading some of the comical feedback on here. Some reviewers seem to have unusual expectations such as complaining about receiving chips with their dishes or having to request special water. I personally have always enjoyed my meals at this establishment, which offers delightful vegetarian options that even meat eaters can enjoy. The restaurant has a cozy lodge atmosphere with a touch of fine dining flair. The prices are reasonable considering the use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients in a more rural setting. For more accurate feedback, I recommend checking reviews on other websites.
