Otherlands Coffee - Memphis

This is a fantastic place! I am a fan of cortados, but it can be difficult to find a good one. Otherlands gets it just right. We were in a hurry, so we grabbed some croissants to go with our coffees. The pastries were just okay, but the hot dishes that other customers were enjoying looked delicious and are definitely worth a try. We brought our dog along, so we sat in the relaxing backyard/deck area. It was a great experience.

Food is excellent and atmosphere is chill. We really enjoyed sitting by the windows and chatting while enjoying our got chocolates and food.

I had high hopes that Otherlands Coffee House had improved after receiving some negative feedback over the past few years. Unfortunately, my experience was not as good as I had hoped. The cold brew I ordered was average, nothing special. However, the sweet roll I received was extremely stale and inedible. Upon checking the date on the roll, I noticed it was marked as 3/23, and I visited on 3/28. Whether it was made on 3/23 or meant to be discarded by then, I'm not sure. All I know is that it was not good. With the improvement in quality of other coffee shops in Memphis, I was disappointed to find that Otherlands Coffee House was still lacking in a pleasant dining experience.

A trendy and stylish coffee shop with a laid-back vibe. I stopped in for my morning coffee and a bagel, but I plan on returning to hang out with my laptop next time. The shop has plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, and they also have a cute hippie-themed gift shop. The menu looks delicious and the coffee was excellent. It's hard to find a good mocha, but they nailed it here. The only downside was that it took a little while for them to toast my bagel, but the jalapeño cheddar bagel was tasty. Despite the minor hiccup, I can't wait to come back again. Just a heads up though, Google Maps lists their closing time as 8 pm but they actually close at 3 pm.

As a freelancer, I often work from coffee shops, and it was an absolute treat to stumble across this café in Memphis. This eclectic, brightly decorated coffee house has a wonderful, laid back atmosphere, free WiFi, plenty of power outlets along the walls for the laptop inclined patrons, and excellent food. I had the turkey melt, and it was simple, elegant, and delicious. They have a rather impressive selection of teas (many coffee houses I've visited have at best 5 6 options; Otherlands has about 25 30). The only hitch is that the parking is very limited and difficult to maneuver. The parking lot isn't much bigger than a typical aisle in a major parking lot, and you have to back out all the way to get your car out. But the parking situation is hardly reason enough to stay away this is an excellent place to work, eat, socialize, or just relax.
