The Old Forge Tea Rooms - Melton

This restaurant is currently only open on weekends and has several outdoor tables in a beautiful village setting. Lola, the friendly Cocker Spaniel, welcomed us warmly and was a hit with everyone. We had hot drinks and enjoyed dishes like sausages and eggs, as well as a specialty called eierböcke. The food and drinks were impeccable, especially the sausages and eggs served on toasted bread. The service was friendly and efficient, with good quality food at a reasonable price. We will definitely be returning!

We ordered the speck sandwiches, coffee, which were excellent and reasonably priced. The waiter was very helpful and provided us with informative details about the area we were visiting. Overall, a great experience.

We have broken in about half an hour before the conclusion of the time and had the most beautiful tee with delicious scorpion and a piece of very fruity fruitcake. very nice location in the center of the village about the search what was today, a very fast flowing...River devon. we were very welcome, the caffe was dog friendly and our dog sat very happy with us to hope for cake.

I went out. it is officially the first time that I have ever left a caffe / restaurant before I eat and I was really hungry! the man who works there was so rude for us. call us a wise person who does not expect to walk the life, let alone paying customers. we gave our job and was hit with a gruff “it will be half an hour, we only have a great order” I saw only other tables around. a few eat a cake and another table that was served not long after we arrived. it got cold outside, so we went in. when the odor of the frying was very strong and was a little smokey, you went back. he cried: “Sit here” we went. it explains why such a beautiful, looking building was almost empty in such a beautiful place. he is clearly not happy in his roll. avoid them.

Lovely picturesque setting with a beautiful river at the bottom of the property along with a gorgeous willow tree to look at while you are sipping your cuppa. As well as our tea, we had a toasted sandwich and cake. The toastie was lovely, so...was the cake although it would have been nice to see available cakes on display to be able to more easily choose. Heads up that it’s ‘cash only’.
