An interesting restaurant in the outskirts of Melfi, when seeking it, we in fact, we did not drive far enough and were grateful to a local who kindly led us to the restaurant. Ones first impression is of a bright and welcoming establishment with outside seating for the long summer evenings. We hadn’t booked so we were happy to find a table available. The greeting was cordial and we were surprised by the fact we were not offered a menu but were offered a set meal (this seemed the normal). Initially we were offered a bottle of Primitivo (living in Puglia this was a bit ordinary) and finished up with a tasty Aglianico. Three servings of antipasti, each plate containing a different selection of dishes, followed by an interesting pasta and a mains (a choice of dishes with the pasta and seconds. By this point we were too full for desert and finished with a coffee. Overall this was a very pleasant and interesting meal and I would like to visit again in two or three years to see how they developed and where they finish up.

There are not a whole lot of restaurants in Melfi, we went here based on tripadvisor reviews. What we noticed as a first thing was that young people were employed both on the waiter side as well as in kitchen. The ideas and creations had that touch of a new generation wanting to make a difference. Very kind and effective service without being too formal. The food itself was good, in terms of the taste and flavors there is still room for improvements but the ideas are there. Found the creations and mix of flavors well thought out but not always well executed. Some dishes were a bit heavy but all in all I would return again, not least considering price vs quality! Recommended!
