Contribuiți la feedbackA great place to go for a fun dining experience. Sitting up at the bar was great. Fun, interactive staff made the night. We had the banquet which was delicious. A great selection of food came out in a nice order. Highlights include the lobster rolls, buttery brioche surrounding beautifully cooked lobster. The cumin lamb with the buns, which we dubbed "fluffy pillows of happiness!" So light and fluffy!Definitely recommend the yuzushu as a drink. A fabulous dining experience.
I recently visited supernormal twice...First. I went with my partner . We didnt book , it was about 1430 sunday afternoon.A mistake on my behalf, i thought we would just wander in.. This restaurant seems to be always full . It is that popular , which is a good sign !! Ok ,so we were welcomed and had a seat , whilst waiting for a spot to eat. We were offered drink whilst waiting. The service here is so professional , really friendly and approachable . Its hard to achieve this balance. They do this effortlessly here. We were seated at the bar , which is fun. And then proceeded to be treated with a selection of gastonomic delights , a raw tuna dish so tasty .. The infamous lobster rollAnd on and on.. We ordered way too much. I loved this restaurant so much I took my two girlfriends, one from Adelaide (, i was showing off ) This time ... I booked we had a table. We ordered less , so we were able to get desert this time .. This was a highlight!! I recommend book , order small amounts, you can always order more .. I think the small dishes are the best.. There is also a feed me menu, which i didnt try.. I think i will next time..All i cam say is just go , and go back again and againI amLove it love it..Thankyou supernormal for the most wonderful service and food
I think for the hype of this place we were really looking forward to this. It was a weeknight birthday banquet meal. Our main waitress was lovely and very knowledgeable however we had a different person bringing out each course and explaining it to us. We just felt a bit rushed. The lobster burgers were about the only great wow dish. Everything else was cold. The main which we chose was flounder cooked in butter and was definitely one of the strangest meals I've had. It just didn't work and was so buttery it overpowered the other flavours. The desert was also very good. I guess with so many people working there they also forgot to bring out our own birthday cake that we gave them on arrival.
We came to Supernormal by accident because the Italian place nearby was undergoing renovations, and I'm so glad we did. The service was impeccable, the food was full of flavour and the unique elements - such as the soy roasted pumpkin kernels - added to the ambience. We had several dishes - the Szechuan chicken salad was rich without being overwhelming, and a selection of steamed and pot-sticker dumplings, each bursting with flavour. We'll be back.
Asian fusion tapas sharing is very in vogue now, hence the long queues for those unable to reserve a table under 6. Fortunate to score a table for 2 on entry around 5.30pm on a Sat late afternoon. Within minutes the queueing started. Not being hugely famished we decided on a few smaller sharing options; New England Lobster Roll $16 ...... for 2 people came to $32 for this dish - tasty but not amazing at $8/bite - ouch!!Prawn & chicken dumplings with chili & vinegar sauce (unremarkable), Duck Bao - twice cooked duck leg, vinegar & plum sauce at $26 with 3 small baos - tasty but at that rate a whole duck wud be over $100!! ($26 x 2 drumsticks & 2 breasts/wing say)!! Greens with white miso (unremarkable). They forgot the spicy beef bun - for two would have been $16. We decided to sample dessert as we were not entirely satiated given they forgot one dish. Peanut butter parfait, salted caramel & soft chocolate was too sickly sweet - we could not finish this. The steamed sponge cake, sake, mandarin & chestnut ice cream was delicate & delicious. The table next to us ordered the chargrilled wagyu striploin 500gm at $80 ..... av $8/mouthful - possibly the set menu is better value though the beef is an additional $20/head!! Including 1 Tap Asahi Beer & Sparkling mineral water ..... & 2 lattes - av: $70/head for small portioned light selection.Service was efficient & pleasant even though a dish was missed. Tasty morsels at fine dining prices ..... I would not queue for hours only to have to fork out these prices - I am glad I've experienced some of what Supernormal has to offer - there are similar offerings in other venues with more realistic price points.
