Contribuiți la feedbackThe STREAT in Flemington caught our attention as a social enterprise, but we will definitely be returning for the food. This café takes its food and coffee seriously. During our visit (the café was closed for renovations at the time of writing), my wife enjoyed the falafel and I tried the Wellington Street burger, both of which were delicious. The Wellington burger is a buttermilk fried chicken burger that surpasses expectations. The menu on our visit included a variety of all-day brunch options, vegetarian choices, burgers named after local streets, as well as bagels and sandwiches. While I am unsure if the menu will change after the current renovation, I highly recommend visiting STREAT if you find yourself in or near Flemington and are in search of a delicious breakfast or lunch option.
This is a social enterprise that provides homeless youth with the life-skills, work experience and training they require to start a career in the hospitality industry. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast here and some delicious coffee. I recommend the Avocado Smash . The coffee is roasted on the premises and I bought some beans to take home which brewed up very nicely indeed.
We recently enjoyed two meals at StrEAT, one for lunch and one for brunch. The menu offered a variety of unique and tasty options that did not disappoint. The service was friendly, although the kitchen was a bit slow during our second visit. Unfortunately, we are unable to participate in the 'pay it forward' program as we are from out of town, but we would be happy to make a donation during our next visit. We highly recommend visiting StrEAT as the food is truly delicious.
A beautiful atmosphere and philosophy. My citrus tea was incredibly delicious. Try it! The menu was full of interesting things that I wanted to eat all at once. What an incredible way to assist young people in getting back on their feet. Well done to you all at Streat.
StrEAT is a unique restaurant with a special concept - the staff are homeless or at risk of homelessness young individuals who are receiving training in the hospitality industry. This restaurant serves beautifully prepared and presented dishes with influences from various cuisines around the globe. Items like sumac, Turkish fairy floss, Gippsland wagyu beef, and Korean kimchi can be found on the menu, which is creatively displayed on a blackboard wall and paper. The restaurant offers kerbside seating, indoor seating, and a lovely backyard garden seating area. I highly recommend checking it out.
