It's conveniently close to my home, and I had heard good things about it. I've been able to visit twice this year, which is quite frequent for me! I really enjoy the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. During my first visit, I had a fantastic seat by the open window, but during my second visit, the sun was too hot shining through the glass.
Recommendation: Peter's Pancakes are perfect for those with a sweet tooth. Read the complete review at kerabeareats.com or follow @kerabeareats on Instagram.
The sandwiches, which were more like burgers as they were served on milk buns, included Pulled Pork, Duck, and Beef. The pork was tender with a nice crunchy salad. The crackle was very enjoyable. The duck was crispy with delicious sweet potato curls. The sriracha added a spicy kick to it. The beef brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender and had a fantastic flavor.
A trendy cafe in the 'hip ' surry hills offering asian influenced food, think sriracha cheese, hoi sin dressing, lap chiong (chinese sausage , miso caramel with their offerings. If that doesnt get you salivating, not to worry, there are trad brekky items as well. <br/ <br/ Mac n cheese 3/5, an elevated bacon cheese n egg, well with maple candied bacon poached egg sriracha cheese n tomato relish w potato buns (of course the requisite macaroni . A defo hangover cure on lazy sundays ' brunch. My boss devoured it and i dont remember getting her drunk the previous night.. <br/ <br/ Chai spiced muesli 4/5, to say that i feel ambivalent at best about quinoa kale chia seeds and the like is kind of an understatement. This is probably one of the best 'bird food ' i have tasted. No offence to iron pumping healthy boys n girls out there. Well balanced in flavours texture, quite filling too. Genuinely surprised the hell out of me. Hope they dont jack up the $12 price hmmptt! <br/ <br/ Brown rice ocean trout poached eggs 3.5/5, such a healthy option (unlike the mac n cheese above and you best get the optional trout too while you are at it or you might be tempted by the various cakes croissant and pastries near the cashier on your way out. Tsk tsk! <br/ <br/ Summer berry juice, my boss thought she needed some healthy drink to 'balance ' out her mac n cheese. Well at $8.50 a pop, who am i to argue.. . <br/ <br/ Service quite efficient and unobtrusive. Boss lady (or manager came over to ask how everything was, which is always a nice touch.
This is one of those few places that offers you something genuinely different and good value for your $20+ breakfast (pretty much standard in Surry hills). Menu options are delicious and imaginative, and they deliver it with speedy, friendly service and a stylish spacious fit out for good measure. Great coffee too.
