Souvlaki Gr - Melbourne

I recently visited the newly opened Loading restaurant in West Heidelberg. I was excited to try their charcoal chicken and Souvlaki Square, as I had heard great things about their souvlaki in the northeast. Unfortunately, my high hopes were dashed when I realized that Loading was a franchise. The meat for the souvlaki was not freshly sliced from a rotating spit, but rather pulled from a metal container, resulting in a soggy and tasteless texture. The portions were small, especially considering the high price of nearly $15. The meat was tender but lacked flavor, and the overall experience was disappointing. The only redeeming quality was the tasty chips, but they were not enough to salvage the lackluster souvlaki. It was a shame to have such a underwhelming dining experience.

I got a mixed meat pack and chips. I have recently moved to the area and drive past it regularly thinking I have to try this place. What a disappointment. The meat was disgusting. No other word for it. Dry meat which they drench in...oil. Sickening. Chips were tasteless. As in, no seasoning! Will never be back. Avoid avoid avoid.

I have been coming to this place for 2 years now. I absolutely love the souvlakia here, best I have found!

The restaurant is always highly recommended. It is always clean with great service and parking. The souvlaki at Gr is a must-try.

The kebabs at this local restaurant are delicious and fresh, especially the chicken kebabs. The crispy chips served alongside add a nice touch.
