Moulin Noir - Melbourne

A few blocks from Station Pier where the cruise ships leave from it's a nice little cafe with indoor and some outdoor seating. Inside there are booths and table/chairs with a charming décor. They have good coffee & cakes as well as offering lunch. We enjoyed all the food we had and found the prices to be average for the area. As with a lot of Melbourne areas there's some on street parking and a few parking garages close by but spots are limited & when cruise ships are in hard to get.

Found this little place googling Port Melbourne restaurants. It had 4.7 as reviews, we thought will try it. Soo lucky we did! The food presentation, quality,taste and service were what you expect from 6 stars Places but without the price tag. Being off the main streets made it easier to park . I hope the locals support this lovely and comfortable place, we were there for dinner, not enough costumers that night. We had scallops,steak,barramundi, afogato and crepes! All faultless.

Thankfully the ownership changed recently and what a big improvement this has made.. we didnt come here although liking the place, food and coffee because of the previous owner.. GOOD NEWS! He has gone, the new owners are great, service, food and coffee is still really good. We came here two days in a row we were so excited.. the corn and quinoa stack is fantastic!! The texture is great, you can taste all the flavours rather than flour like alot of corncakes around.. another favourite from here is the scrambled egg crepes and the breakfast burger.. nothing is any trouble here, we wanted one scramble egg with some cheese for a toddler, done! Beautifully decorated really makes for an enjoyable experience.

We needed an early meal after a long hard day and Moulin Noir was absolutely perfect. Our steaks were presented according to our individual tastes- yum! The crepe Suzette's also were delicious- yum, yum. A great choice at a welcoming place.

They make amazing coffee which eventually made me a regular customer here.. Nice food, wide variety of wines, awesome hospitality.. the venue by itself has an ambient lighting in the evening, which makes it a romantic place.. A definite must go place if u r around port melbourne..
