Their pancakes have gotten worse, but it is still one of the top Korean restaurants in Melbourne.
Today, I ordered tteokbokki on UberEats and was pleasantly surprised when the restaurant included a generous portion of cheese without me having to pay extra for it. The tteokbokki was absolutely delicious with just the right amount of spice, tender texture, and ample veggies and fish cake. I will definitely be returning to dine in person at this restaurant.
The spicy fried chicken with cheese here is the best. The sauce is delicious. Rating is based mostly on how good this dish is.<br/ <br/ Most other dishes are about the same as other middle of the road Korean restaurants.<br/ <br/ Seafood pancake is quite good.<br/ <br/ Jaepchae can be hit or miss.<br/ <br/ They use small paper cups for water, which is pretty wasteful.
Mook Ji Bar provides simple, no nonsense Korean food in a very basic environment. I visited on a weekend at lunch time and the place was packed. Despite this, service was quick and there was a quick turnaround in customers. <br/ <br/ I ordered the Bibimbap while my companion had the squid bulgogi. Even though the bibimbap was not served in a hot stone bowl, it still tasted delicious. Not sure how they got that egg perfectly round with a runny yolk. The squid bulgogi had a lovely spicy taste to it and the squid itself was not over cooked...so vigorous chewing was not required. The side dishes were limited but nice and crunchy. <br/ <br/ It's clear why Mook Ji Bar has a good score!
