Il Carretto - Melbourne

Beautiful, tasty, reasonably priced food. There is nothing that stands out about this restaurant, but the food is ALWAYS consistent in quality and the quality is GREAT! I come here with friends, family and my girlfriend. I always know exactly what to expect and know I won't be broke afterwards . Sometimes the staff can be a bit oblivious but the pizza chef is always wearing a smile and says hello when I walk in. I've been here about 40 times and I would like to keep coming till I'm buried. Wish I lived closer. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering it, great, honest, authentic Italian food.

This is a wonderful restaurant that I do not frequent enough. The staff are marvellous and very generous even when they are flat out. Every dish has always been delicious. Sometimes the entree sizes vary which is a bit puzzling. Can highly recommend the place for family or friends but can be very noisy when busy. Recommend booking on weekends.

Will definitely never go back here again!!!! Ordered my meal, I received the wrong meal. When I notified one of the waitress I got a huff and a puff and she took my plate away. The original waitress that took my order comes to the table and tells me what I received is what I ordered, I think I know what I ordered! Never again!!!!

This is a cosy, unassuming Italian restaurant that we had walked past a few times. Decided to have dinner here and were very happy with the food,service and the ambience. Very much a local Italian flavor with pizza, meat and fish mains and also a good range of wines to accompany the meals. We even got yummy free bread to start dinner. I decided on a gourmet vegetarian pizza which had just the right amount of topping and a tasty, home made base. My partner had the fish of the day which was lovely too. We will definitely be coming back here for a meal be it lunch or dinner. The owner and the staff were friendly and attentive. I'll be trying something new on our next visit.
