The address is number 144 (see photo). Haven't been to Footscray for many years until last Saturday. It was lunch time and we saw the restaurant was full of people so we decided to give it a try. 1) The Pho was just below average...More
We love Hien Vuong and it is a regular stop off on movie night for a quick pre or post flick meal. Opening at 0900 a.m. it's also good for an early lunch after a visit to the Footscray market. There is a great range of Pho as well as a few traditional offerings such as Spring Rolls and Rice Paper (Fresh) rolls. Pho comes in three sizes the largest of which would suit even the biggest of eaters. Prices are $9, $10 and $11 for the bowl you need a kayak to get across. Service is quick and friendly, the soup hot with ample fresh herbs and shoots to add. The base stock is simply one of the best I have had outside Vietnam.A great place for quick service and great Vietnamese Pho.
Whenever I'm in Melbourne I head over to Footscray for a steaming bowl of pho at Hien Vuong. The pho is delicious, authentic and is always served steaming hot with fresh herbs and mung bean shoots. The price is more than reasonable @ $9 a bowl.
Called in for a quick vote of lunch while in the area recently. Had a serve of cold rolls and some clear noodle soup. While the staff were typically brash and to the point, the food was amazing and the stock in the soup was amazing and the cold rolls appeared to be made fresh to order. No credit cards though. Certainly worth calling in if in the area.
