Gordon's Cafe & Bar - Melbourne

Preordered a takeaway coffee here before work. It was ready straight away and was perfectly hot. I wasn't expecting much, to be honest, but was surprised by my pleasant experience.

Great service great setting, great breakfast quality and the chocolate brownie was out of this world! Open later than other shops which is good because anybody that closes at 2:30pm shouldn’t open at all. Definitely recommended!

We love coming to Gordons when visiting the city.. we have been going there for years.. always great service, beautiful food coffee.. (the manager/owner always remembers us makes you feel welcome) <br/ On our recent visit I had the gf grilled calamari salad.. lovely tender calamari, fresh crisp salad very satisfying.. the menu has plenty of gf/df options including pasta which is also yummy..<br/

Gordon’s is on one of the main visitors alleyways so that’s always a bit of a risk. Nice ambience inside and music set the mood and the staff are friendly and welcoming to the early starters. Breakfast for me of eggs Benedict and a coffee or two. Coffee as ever in Melbourne was solid. Strong flavour and aroma without a hint of bitterness. Breakfast plate was pedestrian looking but tasted good. A minor quibble was the end piece of the loaf as one of the slices which made eating a challenge. First world problem I know. Anyway overall it’s a solid like and of course you pay a little premium for being on one of the mainlines; which you may enjoy for the people watching.
