Rustic Kitchen and Bar - Medicine Hat

A very lively restaurant is on Valentine's Day. Book it well in advance to avoid disappointment. The food was delicious as usual and the price was reasonable. Very friendly waitress and beautiful atmosphere.

My only regret is that I can rarely eat here. That was only my second time I enjoy this pleasure. The menu offers are all so attractive, it makes it difficult to select what I try. But again, I ate Amarone wine, so... I chose one of her steak dishes. Perfection. Great service. No place for any dessert, so I can't vouch for this part, but the spinach salad with beet and cheese was fantastic. I ate on the terrace, and there was a wealth of yellow jackets at my table. I think the oil and balsamic bread have attracted them. I used it as a distraction while I ate my dinner in peace. I think the rustic kitchen provides a good value for your dollar. Not cheap, but they deliver food worth the price. And they will adapt their tariff to your needs, none of these changes approach that many restaurants use. I'm a very satisfied customer.

I haven't been to this restaurant since the pandemic started. After our culinary experience last night, I will be back in the near future. I visited a large group that celebrated an anniversary. Overall, everything about our visit was fantastic from food to service staff. I had the pork and it was delicious and plentiful. Very recommended!

The food was good when we finally got it (fastly slow), but easily the most restless, impatient waitress I ever met. Was part of a large group and she was not susceptible to all questions or requests. Was annoyed by someone who spoke to her and was... worried when someone asked a question. When we were asked about dinner specialties, we were told that she would not tell us what they were until everyone was back at the table (one person went to the bathroom) because she "not wanted everything to say twice". Also the bathrooms are down and the only way to reach it was down two stairs. Good luck for everyone with a physical disability. When you reach the bathroom, there is no handicap stack. I don't think one of us will return.

I just arrived in Medicine Hat for a long work stay, and this was my first stop on my restaurant hunt, and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere and decor is lovely, not too high end, but warm and inviting. I sat in the lounge...as I was solo dining and it was just as nice in there. The service was attentive and friendly, you can tell the manager (sandy? is a favourite and makes everyone feel at home. I had the Alberta sirloin entree-medium rare. The steak was cooked closer to rare with a cooler red centre, but I prefer it that way anyways. The sun-dried tomato herb butter on top was to die for. The potatoes were so cheesy and delicious as well. I recommend the gold Cadillac margarita if you’re looking for a good cocktail as well. Lots of friendly people and a fun local dining experience, I’ll be back for sure!
