Cafe Zeppelin - Medellín

This place is like something from Berlin or Barcelona. It is quirky and is a great place to hangout with friends. Lil pricey compared to most bars in Medellin though

*this review is for the El Poblado location on Carrera 37 I've been twice during my stay in Medellin. The chai milkshake is delicious but the service is horrible. Both times I sat there for almost 15 minutes either before getting the menu (the first...time), or afterwards (I got my own menu) without anyone taking my order. I finally went to the counter and gave them my order.

The special of the day for 14k is basically a pretty good deal. We had the potato and cauliflower soup which was hearty, thick, and genuinely flavorful. It wasn't quite warm enough; just warmish. Then came the chicken main course. My first bite surprised me...because it was cold. There was a lovely boiled potato bathed in a nicely done sauce. The only problem with it is that it was just barely warm. Next I tucked into the mound of white rice. It had been properly cooked but a funny thing happened on the way to our table; it was downright cold. I couldn't make eye contact with the waiter or a man who popped his head out and who looked like he could be the owner. They spent almost all of their time in the back. If you go there for such a meal be sure to ask for it to be hot.

Enjoyed drinks and snacks with friends on an intimate patio at the back. Cool decor, relaxed atmosphere, even more relaxed service.
