Savory Café - MCCLOUD

I really admire the ambiance of this restaurant, which is located in the historic McCloud Mercantile. However, my experience with a group of four this morning was quite disappointing. After waiting nearly 45 minutes for three croissant sandwiches and a bagel, we discovered that the bagel had been overlooked altogether, and the croissant sandwiches were so greasy that we ended up discarding them. My brother-in-law repeatedly went inside to inquire about the bagel, only to find out they hadn't even started preparing it. Although my sister eventually received her bagel, the overall experience left much to be desired. As residents of McCloud, we were excited to share the charm of our town with family, but after spending almost $35 on greasy, inedible food and waiting nearly an hour, I believe this restaurant has a long way to go before it can make a positive impression.

If you're searching for outstanding coffee in McCloud, look no further—this is your top choice. They feature stunning Italian espresso machines and use the perfect beans from Stumptown Coffee Roasters. Since opening in April, the Savory Cafe has been operated by the same couple who runs the Harvest restaurant at the McCloud Golf Course. Our sandwiches were quite enjoyable too, but be sure to grab a coffee; you definitely won't regret it.

The coffee here is fantastic, and the baristas are very friendly. I’ll definitely return whenever we are in the area.

The mercantile building has a great vibe, but unfortunately, this restaurant didn't meet my expectations. The croissant looked quite unappealing, and there weren't many other food choices available. On the bright side, there were some cozy seating areas, and they offered some charming small non-food items for sale. However, the overall food options in McCloud are quite limited.

Monday afternoon was a true culinary delight. My taste buds were in for a treat with the expertly crafted avocado toast. A single slice of toasted bread served as the base, topped with a magical combination of ingredients. The Cocoa Dream smoothie was simply amazing—an ideal mix of chocolate and coconut that took my taste experience to new heights!
