My Peoples Taco - McAllen

The name of the place changed to Adrianna’s Kitchen, however the food is very delicious, the ambiance is festive, and the staff is great!

The service was decent. One advantage of the pay-up-front system is that if you dine in, you don’t feel the pressure to tip. I have a feeling this place is designed for quick service. Now let's talk about the food. I ordered the Cuban sandwich primarily for its avocado and white cheese. It was just okay; it filled me up, but I couldn't finish it because the flavor was rather bland. I was initially puzzled by the portion sizes of the sandwich’s ingredients. The slices of avocado were so thin that I thought I had received the wrong order. The tomatoes came from a small tomato, and I had to search for them within the sandwich. While there was plenty of chicken, it lacked flavor, though the ham was quite good. It seemed like the generous amount of chicken was meant to impress, but it only served to emphasize how sparse the vegetable portions were. I nearly decided against writing this review because I usually prefer to share positive experiences. However, the skimpy amount of vegetables impacted my meal enough that I couldn’t finish my sandwich. I hope my experience was just a one-off, but if it’s reflective of the standard here, then I hope my feedback is helpful to others.

This restaurant offers only a drive-thru service, but it's definitely worth it. My current favorite are the tacos a la plancha; they come with three tacos, accompanied by lettuce, avocado, tomato, crema, and salsa on the side. My mom loves the chicken with grape salad, and the cilantro dressing is delicious. While prices have increased significantly and the combo used to be much cheaper, we still indulge in their food occasionally, which makes it worth the splurge. The service is quick, and it seems they prepare your order fresh, so everything tastes great. I also recommend the chicken salad with chipotle sauce; it's excellent. I've tried their tortas once, and they were tasty as well.

I would’ve given this place a 5-star rating, but the prices are quite high. I also noticed that the staff can be a bit rude or seem uninterested in working, which is evident from their expressions. The food is good, but the customer service leaves something to be desired.

Ordered the Tacos Monterrey and the Desebrada tostadas. Both are really good! I would go again!!
