For a steakhouse, you can expect the steak to be great. The irony, however, is that Steak is the one thing you want to stay away from. This location is located in a lively area. Waiting times are to be expected. And luckily, the waiting time was not too bad for a busy weekend. Service was great. Our server was attentive and went above average. The food was what surprised me badly. Ordered the sirloin and red rock grilled shrimps. Although the steak came out of the medium I asked, it was hard and extremely difficult to chew. The lack of taste also did not help. While Sirloin is not the best cut, I never had one who took work to dinner. The shrimps taste better than the steak. Fries were not crispy and little taste. The prices are decent. Most meat cuts remain in a competitive price range. However, the expensive cuts are overpriced. You can get them cheaper elsewhere. Although I wanted to enjoy my dinner, Steak and Pommes came out to the worst part of the meal and made me feel disappointed.

We were here before, but earlier this month it was obvious that the store separated my family and other black families at the back of the restaurant by the toilets. We sat in the same table as last time, next to another black family who finished their meals. After her departure, another black family sat at this exact table. This happened during our previous visit. It was not a busy evening, and we noticed many empty tables where we sat, and no other black families somewhere in the restaurant, except where we sat. My husband is a USF veteran and we were there to celebrate his birthday. To say we were disappointed, is an understatement! I did not grow up as a minority, and I even noticed this blatant representation of racism towards my family.

The brand Longhorn is one of my favorites. I often dine there as I enjoy dinner and lunch. My recent interactions with this special Longhorn in McAllen were terrible. Every time I had a complaint with the management, it was ignored. Management is extremely condescending and unprofessional in the way the addresses the problem. The management was only willing to remake the salad or grant a refund when I drove back to the site before closing. They were unapologetic over the entire ordeal. Nice atmosphere. If you haven't seen a real long horn you can see 1/4 hanging on the wall. Food was great. Fresh and hot. Even dri KS were made great.
