If you are looking for authentic Italian food, this is a good choice! Set up like a delicacies inside with a food case in front and some back in the kitchen. A decision usually takes place. I had authentic Italian cuisine since I was a teenager and I have to tell you this is the real deal! I ordered meatballs, pasta fagioli, sausage roll, lasagna, a hot sausage sandwich and some other things. All were excellent! Red sauce is very tasty and has a nice balanced taste. The people who work there are also very nice. Definitely a bit from the usual Pittsburgher route in Kennedy city ship. Not so far and worth while driving if you are looking for real Italian cuisine! I recently gave my Italian friend a pattern care package and she wrote me, it was delicious! Enough confirmation for me! Very recommended if you want to take large genuine Italian cuisine at home. We'll go here and pick up almost every week!
I stopped in Riccs for the first time today and ordered 2 hot sausage sandwiches with cheese. The sandwiches were full of taste and the peppers and onions were very delicious. I have to say that the cooks of Ricci know what they're talking about when we talk about sausage peppers and onions. I'm gonna come back and pick up some sandwiches I'm gonna kill next. Ricci's is one of my new favorite restaurants. Hurry up and get some good to see food!!?
I'm picky about my hot sausage. The hottest sausage doesn't have the texture I'm looking for. It is usually too finely ground and they are not fennel seeds etc. In addition, a large part of the hot sausage is not hot at all here (spicious). I found myself in the neighborhood of Ricci 's Italian Sausage, a mother's pop shop selling homemade everything (just fit their website). So I took a gamble and stopped. The family/workers were very polite. They have their roots in Abruzzo. We talked about her sausage production process. I ordered two HS sandwiches and 2lbs of the HS rope. I was joking about opening a shop in the South Hills where I live? They informed me that their sausage and other products are available in the South Hills; Pasta Too in South Park uses her sausage and Cibrone Bakery in Castle Shannon sells her products and has hot sausage sandwiches for lunch every Thursday! Anyway, I'll come home, put the HS rope in the freezer and start eating the sandwich. I was very impressed. I finally found the quality and taste I prefer. I swore my lunch and as I did, for a fleeting second I thought I was in...Abruzzo. AAA
Everything I?ve gotten here is delicious meatball sandwiches, hot sausage, stuffed peppers, lasagna, Mac and cheese, sausage roll? it?s all amazing! I love the local and family owned aspect of it too. I have learned from experience that they prefer you order ahead of time if getting a decent amount of meatballs (more than 6 or so), but totally understandable and very much worth it!
