Really, I am seriously asking what happened to the cheese? My husband and I live around the corner from the La Mona, Centro. We called for delivery last night and it came on time, friendly delivery man and it was nice and hot. But, when...we opened the box, we took a step back, looked at each other and in unison, said what is that It had a seriously pink sheen to it so we took it to other areas of the house for different lighting. It was still pink. We had to taste it; we were starving. The cheese had an over done texture which was odd because the crust was okay. We had asked for extra cheese but there was only a thin layer which, we realized, could account for it being overdone. It should also be noted that the pepperoni was a bit crispy which I did not mind but don't prefer. Oh well, a couple of years ago or so, La Mona started off with good pizzas almost every time we ordered them. From the beginning, the service was not that great, but the atmosphere is nice and interesting. It has a beautiful bar but often out of a preferred beer. We just resigned ourselves to being patient and happy there was a restaurant we could walk to. Sadly, though, we won't be their customers again, I guess that's the bottom line. This is something you can't blame on Covid.
Great pizza , reasonable price and great service , gets busy but good food is worth the wait . Marina was quiet for a Sunday night nice place .
If this were the US, I would rate the pizza as just average, nothing special, but in Mexico wood-fired is uncommon and still above average. The price is a bit high and I definitely would have preferred more portabello and less big slices of cooked...tomato which do nothing for me. Profit margin? The goat cheese was tasty. This is a North American place, you would hardly know you were in Mexico. Old snowbirds and hardly anyone else. If that is your thing, this place is fine.
Great Restsurant with two location in Mazatlan downtown and Mariba Mazatlan, both are very good.Try the campestre salad, spaghetti with shrimp ( spice but great flavor) and any kind if pizza, it is thin and oven make the service is good , Mona in Marina it is located in front of the sea. 3 people with 2 cups of wine, salads ( huge portions to share) and a principal plate each one, will cost 700 Mexican pesos (35 Dlls), enjoy
