Bad service, had to ask three times for everything. gambas were full of sand and when we complained to the waiter, forgot English and understood nothing. we had to pay for it too. to complete it, they put on the bill...that we did not order, charged for two glasses tinto verano if we only ordered one etc. very pricy, too. terrible.
Café Michel is closed and the staff have moved en bloc to La Cofradía de Pescadores. Same menu, café at only 1€.
The restaurant is right on the paseo in the Puerto de Mazarrón, beside the new marina with a view of the bay. Standard spanish fare. Café only 1€. What more could you want?
The Cofradia has a really good position on the seafront of Puerto de Mazarron. It is one of a cluster of 3 restaurants in a row but this one is, to my mind, perhaps a little more Spanish than the other two. If you fancy...a morning coffee, they offer a coffee and half a tostada con tomate (or plain or with jam) for only 1.30€. A real bargain! And you can sit with a fantstic view out over the bay. Their Menu del Dia is also of very good quality and value. A decent salad to start (some restaurants seem to be skimping on this these days), two good courses and a reasonable choice of home made desserts. Wine (of course is included. What I like about this restaurant is that it is used by a lot of local Spanish people which, to my mind is always a good recommendation. This restaurant has been around for many years now and will, I think, continue to do good business long after some of the newer establishments have come and gone.
