Contribuiți la feedbackTook me 24 hours to get here from Australia, and I wanted an authentic, unpretentious dining experience on the first night close to where Im staying well, I got it! We were the first ones ushered into the more formal, but nonetheless cosy, room at the back with some views onto the lake. Service was warm from the start, and with a glass of Prosecco, I started to come alive again. The menu features swiss classics and Pizza (which you could also class as a swiss classic), and I enjoyed a fresh pile of salad leaves to start, followed by the Fischknusperli (fried fish pieces) they look like chicken Nuggets, but the lake fish inside is fabulously fresh, and the crust texture satisfyingly crunchy. I also tasted the vegetable Roesti (off an extensive selection of pimped out Roestis) and also found that very enjoyable in taste and texture. With a nice glass of chardonnay, the whole experience was a worthy start to my latest swiss adventure and I may even be back before I go back.
We have been wanted to visit this place for some time now, as we had read about their good pizzas. So finally we came over one day during Easter for lunch. For being a Saturday it was pretty quiet (although we came also slightly late for Swiss standard lunch time). We were nicely greeted by the waiter who offered us to take any table we wanted. We were 5 and ordered a mixed of Swiss traditional dishes (Asparagus soup, Schnitzel) and pizzas. Soup was absolutely delicious and Schnitzels were big and well prepared. Our pizzas were wonderful and each of us (we were a party of 5) enjoyed our dishes. Service is attentive and friendly and we felt comfortable and welcome. The menu is quite extensive and as I said they seem to have 2 specialties: Swiss traditional dishes and pizzas. They even have a special menu only for Rösti (which I plan to try out next time). As per our experience, they know how to master both of them. They also have a terrace outside and a take-away service so we will soon come back!
Great for a beer garden. Drinks, self service food, long queues included when the weather was nice, waiting time was okay. And the Swiss price was not as high as expected. Not cheap! From a German perspective, that doesn't exist in Zurich anyway. :
As always, great food and service. Happy holidays to the whole team.
Even though we only have a coffee and a croissant each, we are always greeted and served in a very friendly manner.
