Auberge de la Loire - Mauges-sur-Loire

We are the only customers younger than 60 for a Sunday dinner. The place is quite old-fashioned and you can only eat inside. BUT : It is one of the few restaurants in the region where you can eat a real sander (Art...fish) of the Loire! That's the worst. My children were impressed how “chic” the restaurant was as we had offered Amuse-Bouche before the starter, and... the toilets were “very chic” as my children say! The owner was beautiful and the waitress patient. The food was classic, good, but not exceptional. If you want to experience a good traditional French cuisine, go! They also offer a beautiful children's menu.

I was very disappointed in this restaurant. It was quite expensive, the portion size where a joke and although it tasted ok, it was not good enough to justify the supposed fine dinning tittle and price tag. I asked the waiter to recommend my meal... because there was no translation on the menu and he spoke very little English as I French. He proposed a fish dish and what I got on my plate was two ice cube-sized fish pieces. Sloppy presentation and I starved after my meal. Could have justified this if it tastes amazing, but it was really quite average. My soufflé was boiled, there was raw egg yolk in the ground and the price tag was not reflecting on the quality of my meal. I wouldn't return here again.

This is a great little place in Montjean. Our waiter was very patient with our lack of French Vokab. Very quick and friendly service.

The food here was really authentic local, traditional cuisine. Everything was cooked to perfection and reasonably priced.

Ne surtout pas y aller le lundi !Après nous avoir laisser la carte la serveuse nous annonce qu'il n'y a plus grand chose à la carte ... Nous avons été 2 à nous rabattre sur le tajine de poulet : poulet non cuit et en légumes que des carottes ! Rien d'exceptionnel Accueil en plus très moyen ... Nous n'y retournerons pas et je ne le conseille pas car repas très moyen pour le prix.
