Downtown Diner - Mattoon

This restaurant is perfect for families or large groups as there is something for everyone. I was impressed by the variety of options on the menu and buffet. I decided to try the Italian dish which did not disappoint. The portion sizes were generous and offered good value for the money. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the cozy decor added to the comfortable dining experience.

This past Saturday morning, my husband, son, and I went to Inner City Diner for their breakfast buffet. It was my first time dining there, as I had always heard negative things about the previous owners who would scream and create a terrible atmosphere. However, I am happy to report that Inner City Diner is now our go-to spot for breakfast! In Mattoon, it's hard to find a place that's worth it for breakfast, but everything at Inner City Diner was fresh, hot, and delicious. From the fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon, to the hash browns and roasted cornmeal, everything was perfect. Our server was impressed with the variety of options on the buffet, especially the French toast. We will definitely be returning for dinner in the future. As we left, we even grabbed a few cookies to enjoy later. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience at Inner City Diner and look forward to dining there again. Holy smoke, the Italian bark was great! there was a series of different elements on the menu that sound very appealing. a great place to bite in the city!

I grew up in the South for most of my life, so when I visited my man's family in Mattoon, the Downtown Diner was a must-visit for me. I love their wraps, especially the cheeseburger wrap, their Land fries steak dinner, and their delectable salad. On weekends, they have a full buffet bar, and even though I'm usually not a fan of buffets, this is the only place I enjoy going for breakfast on the weekends. Whenever I need some good old comfort food, Downtown Diner is definitely the place to go. Thank you for always serving us hot, fresh, and delicious meals!
