Even though I haven’t found any place like this, when I see the words “Burger” and “Bar” together I automatically think that it should be like “Salad” and “Bar” being next to each other. I mean, who wouldn't want a bar with assorted toppings and other magical things to put on your burger? Does that even exist here in Manila? Okay enough of my non sense. We first had a sample of Barney's Burger in the north side of Manila Valenzuela City. Forget why I even bothered, and don't ask what in the world was I doing there. The first experience was quite pleasant. Considering the value for money, it was a sure hit. When we arrived at Barney's, we were greeted by everyone that worked there, not a “Welcome to Barney’s!” kind of thing, but everytime someone walked past us whether it be a waiter or waitress, cook, or manager, they said hello or stopped by to chit chat. The burger came out, it came with four strips of bacon, a nice thick slice of cheddar, piece of lettuce, and lots of BBQ sauce. Biting into it, I got an automatic crunch straight from the leafy greens. The burger is not cooked to order, so it came out medium well, but it did have a little bit of juice left in the patty. The bacon strips were pretty good and I wish they could've covered the whole patty. The BBQ sauce was a little overpowering — not the taste, but the sheer amount that was on the burger. Overall I did enjoy my burger, but I felt that it was lacking something. It did not come with any tomato, or mustard but I am not sure that was it. It was a perfectly fine burger but I couldn’t shake the feeling that it needed something else.
This is just a sketchy review since we only ordered takeaway. Here it goes: • It is located at the building opposite of Hapag sa Marikina and near 7/11. The place has 6 tables that can accommodate up to 5 persons each. • air-conditioned • has own restroom • somewhat adequate parking space in front. Since the building where Barney's Burger is located also houses several commercial space, parking could be a minor problem • We ordered Fully Loaded Supreme without fries and the taste is great though I couldn't compare it with their branch in Lilac... I am just wondering why we were the only ones at the place. No other customers considering the time we went there was afternoon, around 3pm so it's definitely snack time. So I think they lack something in marketing and advertising. Or maybe because it's summer? No students? Anyway, I would still visit this branch which means it's still good for me.
Must try burger joint in Gil Fernando Ave. Marikina. Funny name but good burgers.
Was invited two weeks ago by the owner, so thank you for having us Marikina bloggers! We were asked to choose any burger on their menu, and I picked the fully-loaded supreme with extra bacon and a side of fries. I like the way they are presented more than the ones in their Lilac branch, which serves burgers on plates. The burger itself is okay tasting, but the fries? They taste like... hmmm like a cross between potatoes and sweet potatoes. Meh. Anyway, you get what you pay for here: cheap, okay-tasting, average looking burgers. This branch reminds me of the one in Pampanga, which I consider the best in terms of appearance, food variety, and taste. Anyway, I'm glad they already have milk teas/frappes in their menu, and I'm looking forward to tasting the green tea one! :
This is my favorite go-to burger joint whenever I crave for one. It's also convenient that it's near my house. I always get their BBQ bacon supreme burger ₱99) with extra cheese ₱20), and fries on the side ₱20) Downside is, the place is relatively small and some tables were left filthy and oily, so just don't forget to wipe them on our own with napkins provided and alcohol/sanitizer.
