Country Cottage Cafe - Mataura

Chai latte is always the best from here! I go here often and have never been disappointed! Their cinammon rolls are amazing heated up on a cold day. Always a fav to come here!

The pineapple lump fudge was amazing. As was the cinnamon scroll. Was busy with locals, always a good sign they are consistently good.

Stopped in for a coffee on the go while passing through. Very nice little place. Good coffee and pleasant and friendly staff. I was also very impressed by the fact that it is obviously owned managed by someone who has a christian faith and isn't afraid to let it be known. It wasn't forced on you but rather they had Gideon Bibles to give away on a stand inside the main door. Good for them for running the business as they see fit while promoting their faith as they should be allowed to do. 5 stars from me!!

Have been to this cafe a number of times and generally all good. The latest visit the meal arrived server didn't notice that there weren't any knifes and forks at the table. So I went to another table to get some. The knife looked as though it hadn't been washed. Also alot of noise from the kitchen can be heard thru the cafe.

What a great spot. They were ending service but did not hesitate to make us a late lunch. And it was delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back.
