You have a beautiful view of the vast ocean and can even see the small island of Canigao. The staff is incredibly friendly and always has a big smile on their faces. The seafood we had was delicious and the portions were generous. This place is definitely a must-visit in Leyte.
This restaurant is a strong competitor to Pagatpat Seafood Restaurant. They offer a similar boodle menu featuring dishes like fish tinola, Calamares, baked scallops, garlic shrimps, pig bellies, steamed crabs, and more! What sets them apart is the incorporation of tropical fruits into their menu, giving them an edge. Prices range from 1,300 to 1,600. The location is convenient, just a short walk from the main road. The restaurant consists of 8-10 Nipa cottages overlooking the sea. During high tide, guests are welcome to take a dip in the inviting water. The service is excellent, with friendly and accommodating staff. They even offer complimentary cakes and ice cream for birthday celebrations.
We visited this place for a family dinner, just before we visited So. Leyte for our other island visit. I have a big family, so we arrived in the restaurant in 3 separate three-wheelers, car and single-wheeled bikes. We ordered 3 huge trays. They used this large round form of native materials that the locals call it 'nigo' fed with fresh banana leaves. It was amazing to see so mouth water. We ordered 16 mango shakes, 4 or 5 beer border, iced tea and water for drinks. It was nice to see my family, especially the children, they really enjoyed the meals. We were on a hut that stood above the water, so now and then we had little water spray from below, but it was fun. I love the place and we go back there. The only little complaint is that her food is a little salty for me, maybe because I'm used to cook our own home in Melbourne. Overall, it was amazing especially the service, we did not have to wait that long, considering that there are about 20 of us.
This restaurant is a great choice for seafood lovers. They consistently serve fresh squid, scallops, prawns, and fish prepared in a variety of delicious recipes. The staff is friendly and welcoming, always serving with a smile. The atmosphere is cozy, especially at night, making it perfect for romantic dates, family dinners, or catching up with friends while enjoying the tropical island breeze. The prices are reasonable for the quality of seafood offered. A must-visit restaurant if you find yourself in Leyte, especially Matalom. Two thumbs up!
This restaurant is the first competitor of Pagatpat Seafood restaurant. They offer similar boodle menu which includes but not limited to fish tinola, calamares, baked scallops, garlic shrimps, pork belly, steamed crabs and more! What differs is the inclusion of some tropical fruits in the menu, which is their advantage. Price range is from 1,300 to 1,600 as of my last visit. The location is great, just a little walk away from the main road. The whole place is composed of approximately 8-10 nipa huts over the sea. If you get lucky enough to be there during a high tide, you are welcome to take a dip on the inviting water (though near a residential area).Their service is great, with accommodating and friendly staff. They also also bringing of other food like cake and ice cream if you will be celebrating a birthday lunch/dinner there. No corkage fee will be charged.
