The Sawmill Brewery - Matakana

The beers are fantastic, there's a wonderful selection, and the atmosphere is very family-friendly.

We absolutely love visiting Sawmill Brewery; it’s a staple of our summer. The atmosphere is fantastic, making it perfect for everyone from couples to families. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is great, and even though I have dietary restrictions, they are always willing to accommodate me. I know everyone raves about their beer, and I can’t wait to try it again—although I do still miss the advertisements, haha! I’m really looking forward to your reopening; I’ve been missing you all!

The menu offered a fascinating variety of options. The standout dish for me was the smoked fatty pork cheeks. While I found the spicy ribs a bit too smoky for my taste, they were still enjoyable. The broccolini with feta was also delicious. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the venue was immaculately clean, which is always a big plus.

This place is beautiful! Be sure to arrive early to secure a good seat.
