Had a family meeting of varieties for the first time in 3 years and decided to take all to Marysville House. It could not have been better, food, service and ambience. The steaks were perfectly cooked for everyone and that says a lot. We had a great time and will definitely be back. Hopefully earlier than three years.
This place is worth the trip! Rarely do you find steaks of this quality in Montana. Great cuts, and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are drinking in an old mining town in the late 1800's. Make sure to get the mushrooms with the steak, and both styles of shrimp for the appetizers.
We have all heard about small town cooking taking us back to growing up. Rarely do you find it in an actual small town. Marysville House is that diamond in the rough. First the atmosphere is like stepping into a cabin in the deep Montana mountain ranges. The walls are scarred with history of all the different patrons that have sat by its cabin hearths. The drinks are an in excellent selection, beers from all the popular brewers in the state. It is the atmosphere that you want to meet your friends in after a long day at work. The food deserve every 25 points of the 5 stars in this rating. I got the Cajun shrimp appetizer (kick myself for not getting the picture) roasted chicken, and cheesecake. First the Cajun shrimp was an complete suprise. It was spicy cajuin, with a delicious garlic and my guess of cilantro seasoning. This far inland shrimp should not taste that good. My main course was the roasted chicken. Grilled chicken is a dangerous game of dried meat and flavor. I usually avoid chicken but I wanted to see what Marysville House had to offer. This chicken was moist, smoky, seasoned to perfection. Probably one of the best pieces of chicken that I have ever paid for. Desert was a cheese cake, I ordered this out of pure gluttony cause It looked that good. It's texture was better than its look with a smooth and light pallete that kept me from feeling overly saited. Overall this is saved on my list, I will travel 10 hours to introduce this to anyone ready for the trip
The restaurant is located in a historic building in an old mining town right on the hill of the Great Divide ski resort. Marysville became something from a ghost town after the mines were played, but it is gradually back to life as a ski hill, tourist destination and bedroom community for Helena.
