Restaurant Cote Sud - Martigues

Wisited Cote Sud for dinner because had a luck staying in ibis and this place is just around the corner. Of course, the English language only exists in the main menu. The daily French menu is pleasantly explained for you in French: free snacks were... really good, so I expected a very good second dish. With the help of google, I translate selected fish (dry, which generally quite boring themselves. Unfo, it was very boring when cooked. Too much oil, no taste, but look pretty good. The place doesn't seem very expensive. Second dish with a glass of wine was 18 eur. Is it worth going there? If you stay in ibis and don't have the chance to go for dinner in Oldtown, then yes, give a try, maybe you have a bit more luck than me. Otherwise forget it.

Under new property I was here 6 weeks ago and it was not so great, but new owners have it on and last week the food and service were fantastic. I stayed in the impressing Ibis next door (where the food is terrible). I had lamb on a spike hanging vertically above the plate, it was nice. I had a duck that was the best I ever had. I ate here for 4 nights and the food and service were consistently good. The place is large and has a little reflection feeling about it, so do not expect intimate environment, but the quality of food at a very reasonable price more than makes from the lack of ambience.

General atmosphere of the restaurant is unpleasant, the room is not decorated enough, you get an empty feeling service fast and correct quality of food: very moderate, sauce was a catastrophe, meat was overcooked and hard. Fish was not seasoned well
