Calvin Rockett Grill - Marshalltown

Did they change their recipes? The food was terrible. I used to love their onion rings, but now they were disgusting and definitely not made the same way. I took one bite and couldn't eat anymore. As for the service, our waitress took our order and brought us our drinks, but after that, she didn't say a word to us. We didn't see her again until she dropped the bill on the table without saying anything and walked away. We even had to go to the bar to ask for silverware and napkins. The atmosphere was too quiet; you could overhear the waitresses talking about their tips. I won't be coming back, which is disappointing because I used to really enjoy their original onion rings.

I ordered onion rings and nachos, and it's been about a year since my last visit. They’ve changed their recipes, and unfortunately, they don’t taste as good as they used to. The nachos are just drenched in cheese sauce with no real flavor, and the chips are disappointing as well. The onion rings were soggy and lacked the crispy texture I remember.

Calvin's is definitely a spot to stop at if you are in Marshalltown! It recently has changed owners, but hasn't lost a step as the new owners are the same as the ones that own the flying elbow. The food as always is amazing, especially the Hot Chicken Sandwich!! Parking: Lots and lots of parking

Food and service was great! The best place for Bloody Mary's will definitely be back when I'm in town! The only thing I wish is your gallon bloody Mary's were cheaper. Other then that you won't be disappointed!
