Bat Bar a Tapas - Marseille

The food was relatively average, cocktails were nice, the service was great and the atmosphere was okay. There were no AC or fans on the top floor at night so it got pretty warm.

We chose this restaurant based on the high ratings. We ordered from the Tapas menu. The food arrived promptly and was ok, there were no real stand out dishes, we shared six plates and a drink the bill was reasonable.

We visited on the last night of our trip to Marseille and decided to look for a tapas bar, after looking on trip advisor I found bar a tapas and when we arrived we were not disappointed. The interior decor is fab, very different, modern and unique. We were greeted and seated straight away by a friendly waitress and although our French was terrible and she didn't speak much English she made a big effort to help us to understand the menu (which is all in French . The food was incredible, very well presented and all delicious and the sangria was divine. We ordered about 6 dishes (maybe a little too much! and had a jug of sangria and our bill came to just over €50 so very reasonably priced! The reason I didn't give 5 stars if because it's quite far out from the port, about 15 minute walk but I would say it's definitely worth it! The atmosphere was also a little quiet when we arrived but then it was 7pm on a Monday evening, I imagine when the restaurant is full the atmosphere is a lot different. Would definitely visit again and highly recommend to people who like to try different things (insects and shark are on the menu! Ps anyone whose French isn't fantastic make sure you take a dictionary!

Un service charmant, un lieu petit mais bouillant. Une cuisine originale. Et puis.... Pensez à la clef.
