Contribuiți la feedbackWhen I was a kid, growing-up in Marrickville, I used to traipse down to Marrickville Post Office to buy stamps and post my (and the family's) letters. Not any more, because it is now and has been for some while Post Cafe It...was sweltering outside at the time degrees C and we welcomed its cool interior and, in contrast, the warm, smiling welcome we received on arrival. An excellent Cappaccino (large, very hot and with skimmed milk) followed by another. The food menu is easy come, easy go' and that's good as was the variety of its offerings. My spicy grilled chicken burger, with chips, was exactly as stated so no problemo there. I liked the coffee so much that I even ran to a third cup. That was my caffeine quota for the day, for sure! Our server was competent and her manner a delight.
Nestled on a quiet street away from the tourist, post cafe offer a variety of lovely breakfast that can accommodate to dairy free. Super friendly staff and quirky decor.
Went to this place by chance did not have a look at previous reviews in Tripadvisor so it was just pot luck or actual bad luck! We arrived after pm on Queen's birthday, the place wasn't full but there was some oddities around (species...stored in the eating area) We ordered a coffee, an apple juice and two chicken skewers and I pay a visit to the toilet; was not impressed finding a kitchen staff washing himself there and finding a bit difficult to negotiate passing the basin to the toilet due to the cleaning and God knows what else was stored there on the floor and on shelves. The staffer let me in and returned to continue washing himself while I was there, not happy with that. some minutes later a single chicken skewer was brought to the table and we were told that the other was coming in a couple of minutes (why? we ordered at the same time We keep waiting and told my wife to start eating but some nearly minutes later she had finished her lunch and was still waiting, the waiting staff told me twice that my order was coming in a couple of minutes (obviously they did not care a bit). I decided to go and pay for the whatever and not wait for the other skewer; the girl at the counter was apologetic but it wasn't her fault this was about the management of the place then I noticed the kitchen staff handling food with their hands and no gloves, one of them kept cleaning his hands on the already dirty apron and they were passing food stuff between themselves (very annoyed as per the way they were handling the food that was going to be serve to the customers). the girl at the counter try to make it up to me by offering me a free chicken skewer as a compensation for their bad service and planning, I refused and paid the bill and on my way out I noticed that nobody had the interest of cleaning the place as it was dusty and with crumbling from long time on walls and the separating stand. Big disappointment to go there and find issues with hygiene, food handling, service and the actual policy to deal with unsatisfied customer. The Food Authority should visit this place to make things right, no wonder people suffer food poisoning when visit places like this! No recommended to anyone, stay away and find a better, cleaner and more responsible place for a simple lunch...
My first visit here was about years ago. The server told me, it'll be the best chicken burger I've ever had. I rolled me eyes as he went to place my order. I ate the burger- yes it was easily the best I've had....Today, I came back but no fried chicken burger so I had the beef one. It was sooooo good. Not as good as Chantilly at Macquarie centre but what a sensational burger. I'm surprised the burger world have not turned this place into a place of worship. My only negative is their beverages are never a happy buy for me. Today my companion couldn't finish her coffee and the juice servings were just too small compared to the rest of the market. Wasn't that nice either. My points are for their food.
Cafe is well presented but very noisy when full, and rubbing shoulders is the in thing in this yuppy cafe. Sitting outside is a option if the weather suits. Coffee and food are great. Service is well done by Staff. Good place for morning coffee...or lunch.
